Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do often should I service my heating system or air conditioner?

A: You should change the filters in your heating system 2-3 times a year. Scheduling a a service checkup once a year is recommended on both central air conditioning systems and heating systems.

Q: How do I know if there is a problem with my air conditioner or heating system?

A:  If you have the system is running and doesn't seem to be cooling or heating your location, there is most likely a problem. Any time there is a grinding, screeching, squealing, or other abnormal noise coming from the unit, turn off the unit right away and call in a service technician. If the fan doesn't kick on when its supposed to may mean the motor has gone bad or that there is an electrical problem in the system.

Q: I don't have central air in my house. Is it possible to have it installed?

A: Yes. Even if your house is old it is usually possible. Though it will cost more depending on the layout of the house and how it was built, it is usually possible.

Q: My heater is pretty old, should I have it replaced?

A: If its not broken, most people usually don't fix it. However, there are certain advantages to replacing older heating units. Efficiency being the highest on the list. Though there is a higher initial outlay of cash, it saves money on the heating bills. As units age, they become less efficient, thus it may make sense to replace a unit that is over 25 years old.
